Taking into the short incubation period of this variant, the Singaporean government announced today that it will adjust the number of quarantine days for close contacts from 14 days to 10 days starting from next week.
Kenneth Mak, Director of Medical Services of the Ministry of Health of Singapore, said at the online press conference of the Inter-Ministerial Anti-epidemic Working Group today that the Delta variant is highly infectious and the incubation period has been shortened to 4 days or less; the average incubation period of the virus previously observed is 6 to 8 days.
Singapore’s Health Minister Wang Yikang said, that the number of days required to quarantine people who have been in close contact with a confirmed case will be shortened from 14 days to 10 days. However, the number of days of quarantine for inbound passengers is still maintained for 14 days.
