South Korea previously ordered 40 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from Modena, but it has only obtained 6% of the quantity. Therefore, the South Korean authorities decided to send a delegation to the Modena headquarters on the afternoon of the 13th, US time.
The South Korean government purchased 40 million doses of vaccine from Modena and agreed to ship them in batches before the end of the year, but currently only about 2.455 million doses have been delivered, 6% of the total order. In fact, Modena originally expected to supply part of the vaccine to South Korea in July, but some of it was delayed until August. Now Modena has again notified South Korea more than half of 8.5 million doses of vaccine originally scheduled to arrive in August must be delayed for delivery.
After the talks between the two sides, the delegation stated that South Korea regretted that Modena could not supply normally, and Modena also apologized to South Korea. The two sides are currently discussing how to stabilize the supply of vaccines.
