After nearly 600 days of anti-epidemic lockdown, Australia finally loosened border restrictions.
The ban on overseas citizens not allowed to enter Australia without permission was finally lifted today. Australia’s two major cities, Sydney and Melbourne, are now open to entry for fully vaccinated Australians and do not need to undergo any quarantine measures, so that Australians trapped overseas have a chance to rush in, and return home for a reunion before Christmas.
In response to the COVID-19 epidemic, Australia implemented one of the world’s most stringent border restrictions on March 20 last year, and almost suspended the entry of all international visitors.
Relatives were forced to be scattered on all continents, tens of thousands of Australian citizens were trapped overseas, those who obtained entry permits were forced to pay thousands of dollars, and they had to agree to stay in an epidemic prevention hotel for 14 days.

The first non-isolated flight landed at Sydney Airport today. International passengers have embraced their relatives and friends who have been away for nearly two years.
