Some people have symptoms of eyelid spasms, such as blinking, or being unable to relax or open after blinking, and sometimes even change from one eye to two eyes, which is common in people over 50 years old.
From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the liver opens up to the eyes, and the cause of the eyelids twitch is lack of blood in the liver. The liver is a silent organ. When it is too tired, blood deficiency can cause wind. The wind is a kind of twitch, just like a typhoon passes by. It comes and goes fast, just to warn you: the liver is too tired!
In TCM theory, the twitch of the left and right eyelids represents different meanings. The twitch of the left eyelid represents insufficient ‘blood’; the twitch of the right eyelid represents insufficient “Qi”. When one side is insufficient, the wind will go to that side, causing the eyelids to involuntarily twitch.
Recommend an antispasmodic prescription, which can relieve eyelid twitch. This medicine is suitable for both internal and external use. Don’t waste the dregs after boiling the juice. You can apply it to the eyes for 5 to 10 minutes each time to achieve a soothing effect.
