A significant development has unfolded in the long-running case of Tupac Shakur, the iconic rapper. The US police have charged Duane “Keffe D” Davis, an ex-gang leader, with Tupac’s murder dating back to 1996. This charge is a breakthrough in a case that continues to captivate public attention.
Tupac Shakur, a celebrated figure in the hip-hop industry, was born in New York. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds during a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas at 25. The recent indictment on Friday accuses Davis of murder with a deadly weapon. Speaking at a press conference later, police officer Jason Johansson expressed that the police’s perseverance in the investigation had paid off. He mentioned a fight between Orlando Anderson, Davis’s late nephew, and Tupac that occurred moments before the deadly shooting on 7 September 1996. This furiously violent fight was captured on hotel security cameras. Johansson explained how this dispute resulted in a revenge-fuelled shooting that ended Shakur’s life at a traffic stop.

Johansson also pointed out Davis’s incriminating public admissions, which confirmed his presence in the vehicle from which the fatal shots rang out.
