If people don’t pay attention to keeping warm when sleeping, they will have neck pain, stiffness, and other uncomfortable symptoms when they wake up in the morning. This is the stiff neck. Although the stiff neck is not a serious illness, but it has a relatively strong pain, which has a great impact on life and work. Today I will recommend several methods of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of the stiff neck.
1. Cold compress
Severe local pain, stiffness, swelling, may indicate congestion and inflammation of the injured area. Therefore, within 24 hours, cold compresses should be given. Small ice cubes may be wrapped in a towel or plastic bag and applied to the affected area for 15-30 minutes each time, twice a day, or once an hour in severe cases.
2. Hot compress
When the inflammation and pain are relieved, consider applying hot compresses to clear the meridians, activate blood and remove stasis. Use a hot towel wet or a hot water bag. If you have time, you can take a hot bath, especially on the affected area of the neck to repeatedly rinse with hot water, massage the neck with your hands while washing, the effect is better.
3. Exercise
Sitting on a chair, chest up, head down first, until the lower jaw touches the chest, then look up and look at the ceiling. Hold for 3 seconds and then lower your head, repeat 20 times.
4. Traditional Chinese Medicine Cupping Therapy
Take Dazhui, Tianjin, Tianzong, and Ashi points. Mild pain can be directly cupping. .
5. Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture
Acupuncture is mainly based on acupoints of the Hand and Foot Taiyang meridian and Hand and Foot Shaoyang meridian, such as Fengchi, Dazhui, Jingbailao, Tianzhu, Waiguan, Weizhong, Yanglingquan, etc., in combination with Ashi and Luozhen points.
