The Lao Prime Minister’s Office issued a notice on the same day that Vientiane will continue to be divided into “red zones”, “yellow zones” and “green zones” and adopt differentiated epidemic prevention measures. Restaurants in the “green zone” where there is no epidemic allow dine-in; areas outside the “red zone” where the epidemic is more serious and complicated allow gatherings of less than 50 people; people who have completed the vaccination do not need to be isolated for 14 days when traveling between Vientiane and other provinces.
The Ministry of Health of Laos said on the 19th that Laos had a total of 2,050 confirmed cases of new crowns, a total of 3 deaths, and a total of 1,935 cured cases. The health department requires the public to continue to maintain social distancing, take body temperature, wear masks, and wash hands frequently.
On June 4, the Lao government announced a partial relaxation of the prevention and control measures for COVID-19 epidemic, but once again extended the period of “closed city” in Vientiane for 15 days to June 19.
